Lund University hosts global partners to advance innovation in academic medicine

The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Global Alliance of Medical Excellence (GAME) was hosted by Lund University on 24–25 August, focusing on “Innovation in Academic Medicine”. GAME brings together leading medical universities and faculties, including Lund University, the University of Bologna, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Korea University, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Monash University, Nagoya University and the University of Nottingham.

At the annual meeting, participants shared approaches to entrepreneurship, technology transfer, medical education, translational research and innovation ecosystems, while exploring opportunities for stronger collaboration in doctoral education, researcher mobility and joint innovation initiatives. The meeting demonstrated how GAME can connect complementary expertise across continents and provide a platform for future international collaboration. In 2027, The Chinese University of Hong Kong will host the next GAME Annual Meeting, with the topic of AI in medicine expected to provide a broad framework for discussions spanning medical science and education.
